Best of Boston: Italian food and Irish music

This past weekend, we were lucky enough to have my college roommate, Laura, and her boyfriend, Paice, visit before they went to the Patiots game on Sunday (lucky ducks)! We hadn’t seen Laura and Paice since they visited us in Seattle this past February, so we were excited!

We kicked off Saturday evening with pizza at Ducali, a quaint pub located just on the outskirts of the North End – a lovely place to visit when the main drag is super crowded and every place you pop into has a 45+ minute wait like it was that night. Our dinner strategy was to each order a different small pizza and then share slices and rate the best pizza. Paice’s pesto chicken pizza won, but all of them were delicious!

Next, we moseyed over to Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market to check out the holiday decorations, including one of the largest trees I’ve ever seen (yes, it was real). The highlight was the light show choreographed to Boston Pops music, which debuted on Saturday! Definitely check it out if you’re in the area.

We closed the evening at the Black Rose with some live Irish music. A lot of the bars in Faneuil are known for their college night scenes, but this was the perfect combination of great beer, awesome music and a fun crowd. We’ll definitely be back again!

Thanks for visiting, Laura and Paice! We’ll have to plan a Connecticut trip soon!
