As I’m sure you all know by now, New England is currently getting blasted with a major blizzard. After watching the snow pile up all night long, we were eager to get out and explore in the morning so I strapped on snowshoes and Brian put on his Marquette skis (crazy all plastic telemark skis meant for going over rough terrain), and we trudged down to the Middlesex Fells Reservation, an awesome forested park with an impressive network of hiking and biking trails. One of the reasons we picked our apartment is that it’s a half mile to Main Street and a half mile to the Fells – truly the best of both worlds.
We probably have over two feet of snow out there, so it made for fun – but tough – hiking. Here’s what it looks like down here in Melrose, just eight miles north of downtown Boston:
And here’s a little video Brian made of the adventure using his GoPro (for some jaw-dropping inspiration of all the insane things you can do with these little cameras, watch this video and pretend our footage is equally epic):
What a beautiful winter wonderland! Enjoy the snow day and stay warm!
